Cheryl Hines (and Lindsay Lohan) and The Joy of Pregnancy
Thursday August 20, 2009
Your eyes are not deceiving you… you really are looking at a pic of Cheryl Hines, of Curb Your Enthusiasm fame, holding a copy of The Joy of Pregnancy, by Tori Kropp! That’s not some Photoshop job, either. It’s a still from the (by all accounts awful) direct-to-TV movie Labor Pains, starring Lindsay Lohan, who I choose to remember as the funny and charming lead in Tina Fey’s film Mean Girls. The plot to Labor Pains, as you may have read, involves Lohan’s character pretending that she’s pregnant in order to keep her job at a publishing company. Hijinks ensue. But hey, there’s Cheryl Hines holding Tori’s book, which is thrilling enough for me.
Over at Share the Joy, Tori’s latest blog post is about the excitement of seeing her book in a movie, and the pain of actually viewing the movie. She writes:
I did watch the movie, twice. Painful as it was. The first time I was watching while cooking dinner and apparently I missed the part where Lindsay Lohan and Cheryl Hines are in the bookstore with the book. I had to get to the end of the movie to figure that out. So, the second time, I was more attentive in the beginning and sure enough, there it was. I have to admit, it is pretty cool to see The Joy of Pregnancy in a movie.
