Internship Information

Marketing and Publicity Internships
The Harvard Common Press, a publisher of quality nonfiction books in the areas of cooking, childbirth, and parenting, seeks energetic undergraduate, graduate student, or recent-graduate interns in the marketing and sales department. Internships in marketing and sales afford first-hand experience and tangible job skills, from drafting an endorsement request or conducting market research, to helping with publicity mailings or representing the company at area trade shows. Interns leave with a letter of recommendation, a stronger résumé, and valuable publishing experience. Harvard Common Press interns have gone on to work at such publishing companies as Random House, Addison-Wesley, Houghton Mifflin, Zoland Books, Stuff Magazine, Boston Phoenix, and Boston Magazine. Several interns have continued on to full-time positions at The Harvard Common Press.

Internships are available for spring, fall and summer semesters (with a 12- to 20-hour per week commitment). All internships are unpaid. The press is a friendly and award-winning company with a staff of twelve located in a spacious and recently renovated loft in the South End of Boston.

Application deadlines:
Fall internship: July 15th
Spring internship: November 15th
Summer internship: April 15th
