Introducing: Desserts in Jars

Here at HCP, we’re a big fan of jars.
Sound silly? Our kitchen actually holds no drinking glasses, and instead we have cupboards full of mason jars. The refrigerator here is often stocked with homemade jams. And right now, I have a some pink peonies sitting on my desk, not in a vase but in a jar.
I’d say it makes perfect sense that we’re the ones to publish blogger Shaina Olmanson’s brand new DESSERTS IN JARS: 50 Sweet Treats That Shine!
Some of these adorable little sweets are baked right in the jars, like the Peach Bourbon Pies and Caramel Crème Cheesecakes… while others use them as more of a display case, like Macarons in a Jar and Peach-Raspberry Verrines with Lemon-Thyme Cream. There’s also an entire chapter chock full of mixes for giving– Espresso Brownies Mix delivered in a jar sounds like quite a nice gift if I do say so myself…!
Store them, gift them, embellish them, travel with them– the possibilities are endless for these sweet treats, and even better– they’ll stay super fresh when jarred up!
On Monday I’ll be giving you a sneak peek at one of my favorite recipes in the book– Strawberry Shortcakes! So stay tuned, and if you bake any desserts in jars over the weekend, be sure to let us know!
