Resolutions abound this time of year as we prepare for the beginning of the new year…a chance to wipe the slate clean and start anew with all of the things we intended to do last year. This time around, you can do something that’s good for you, and the environment, while still staying fashionable (in a culinary sense), by incorporating more organics into the things you eat (and drink!).

And why not get a jumpstart on going green, and impress your friends, with some creatively crafted cocktails? In a recent interview with Rodale News, Paul Abercrombie, author of Organic, Shaken & Stirred, offered useful ideas for incorporating lively libations into the New Years Eve celebration, as well as a few recipes to keep the cocktail shaker busy all night long. You can find the full article here:

As well as Paul’s recipes:

Elderflower Fizz

Bank Exchange Punch

What you’ll find is that these are easy recipes to serve to friends and family, great to incorporate into any sized celebration, and a good way to get yourself on track with your newly minted “organic resolution” for 2011. And these will also make a great addition to our upcoming New Year’s Eve Small Plates and Cocktails holiday menu, which we’ll be adding to the blog tomorrow – check back for inspiration on what to eat and drink during the festivities this weekend.
