So Many Ways to Celebrate! Happy Passover and Happy Easter!

As a girl, the Easter/Passover season was one of my favorite times of the year. For one, it almost undoubtedly meant that Spring was truly here, and with that came later days, the end of school, and summer vacation. Though my family celebrates Easter, we would often attend the sedar at my best friend’s house. It was such a treat to be able to share our cultural traditions with one another. The first (and only) time I ever tried horseradish was at his house. I learned to pray in Hebrew, gathered countless plastic “jumping frog” toys, and loved hearing his grandfather sing the “Don’t Sit On the Affekomen” song. In turn, my friend would help me paint Easter eggs, tie palms together, and listen to my non-stop chattering over the Easter bunny for days on end. Looking back now, I realize just how fortunate I was to be exposed to– and share– such wonderful traditions
