Learning to Love Beer
I love drinking beer, but that wasn’t always the case. I’m not quite sure exactly when I started enjoying the taste of it, definitely not during my undergraduate years, that’s for sure. Boy, am I glad that part of my life is over. Cheap, tasteless beer at college parties was pretty much my entire repertoire with beer for those few years, and to this day, the thought of drinking a lukewarm PBR makes me want to cringe. Safe to say, I was totally missing out on the good stuff because once I had it, there was no going back.

Are you all on Pinterest? We are, and boy there is nothing like browsing Pinterest around holidays! There’s just an overwhelming amount of fun and inspiring projects and recipes. One thing we keep seeing pop up all of the Easter-themed boards is cakes baked in egg shells… you have to check out these from Cupcake Project, Ferdakost, radmegan, and Dabbled– so creative!

I could not be more excited to congratulate our baker-in-residence Dede Wilson for being named Cookstr‘s Author of the Day! From cupcakes to birthday cakes, and truffles to treacle, Dede has covered it all. She is the author of 13 books, including our entire A Baker’s Field Guide series, Truffles, and my personal favorite, The Birthday Cake Book. In addition to her workload as a prolific cookbook author, she is also a contributing editor for Bon Appétit. With over 25 years in the professional food industry, there’s a reason Dede is your go-to girl for all things baking-related. -
