…and happy we were to have them!

Sunday, 40 of Boston’s most active food bloggers attended a brunch at our office for a morning filled with good food, good conversation, and great company. We had a fantastic time meeting everyone (especially matching faces to blog names and Twitter handles!) and discussing the relationship between bloggers and publishers. Adam gave a talk on the process of turning a food blog into a cookbook, while Nancy discussed what goes into marketing a cookbook in the digital age.

Most of the dishes we served came from our own own cookbooks (see photos below!), plus Adam bartended with some holiday-themed punches! Also, a big thanks to Jason from Ancient Fire Wine and Richard of The Passionate Foodie for providing the wine!

We had a ton of fun at the event, and there are some great photos below of the morning…

Harvest Bowl from Good Spirits

Cranberry Punch from edible Rhody

Raspberry-Cream Cheese Coffee Cake from A Real American Breakfast

Cranberry Coffee Cake from Salty Sweets

Pear Bread with Vanilla and Ginger from The Best Quick Breads

No party is complete without a fruit platter! From our local grocery market, Foodie's

Eating next door in artist Nancy Simond's studio

Great chats with new and old friends

Cookbooks seemed like the most appropriate centerpiece for this event!

...and we let the bloggers each take one home on their way out!

Adam discusses how food bloggers can and have become cookbook authors

Marie of Chocolate and Wine with her new set of The Baker's Field Guides

Great book choices!

The whole group!

We owe a huge thanks to Renee Hirschberg for bringing us all together– what a fun Sunday it was and we are so excited to now be following all of your blogs!

Remember, if you were one of yesterday’s attendees, be sure to make a dish or treat out of the cookbook you picked up yesterday and blog about it– we will be selecting five winners who will receive a package of five additional cookbooks, plus the grand prize winner will also receive a $150 OpenTable gift card! Tweet us the link– @HCPDishes and use the hashtag #hcpbrunch. Deadline is Monday, January 9.

Also, if you do your own recap on the event, send us the link and we will post it here!

What a great event. I wish I could have made it, but unfortunately, I had other plans that day. The spread looks fabulous!

New England Home Cooking has become one of my go-to cookbooks lately.

What a wonderful event! Thank you so much for having us and being so generous with your food and cookbooks! I loved learning a little more about cookbook publishing. I’ve already made a recipe from a book I walked away with!

This was such a lovely event – thank you for welcoming us to HCP. I’ve been reading through my ‘Joy of Pickling’ book non-stop and can’t wait to make something.

Thanks for being so supportive of Boston Brunchers and bloggers in general – these are exciting partnerships!

Thanks to both HCP and Renee for bringing us all together. What an awesome time it was! I can’t wait to get my recipe and post up next week! :) I also am planning a month of recipes from my beautiful casserole book!

Thank you again for hosting us! It’s always great to get together with the Brunchers crew, but what a treat to learn more about cookbook publishing from Bruce, Adam, and Nancy!

And now that I’m back in town, I can’t wait to crack open my new books — particularly to try out that pear bread from The Best Quick Breads.
